How to Remove Your Nissan Wipers - Service Mode

Applies to: Micra (2017+), Juke (2019+), Qashqai (J12 2021+), X-Trail (T33 2022+), Leaf
On many Nissan models, the wipers park beneath the bonnet edge. Do not force the arms upwards. Put them into service mode first, then they are easy to reach.
How to Activate Nissan Wiper Service Mode
With Keyless Push-Button Start
- Press the START button without pressing the brake pedal to enter accessory mode.
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Press the START button again to turn the car off.
- Within 30 seconds, twice in quick succession pull the wiper stalk and hold each pull for about half a second.
- The wipers will move to a vertical service position.
- You can now change the blades.
- To return: turn the car on and activate the wipers normally.
With Traditional Key Ignition
- Turn the key to the ON position (not START).
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Turn the key to OFF/LOCK.
- Within 30 seconds, twice in quick succession pull the wiper stalk and hold each pull for about half a second.
- You can now change the blades.
- To return: activate wipers normally.
Just one quick check
The 30-second window from turning off the vehicle applies to both versions of the sequence. If you take longer than 30 seconds to complete the double-pull action you will need to start from the beginning.
